The Center has published books about Azerbaijan’s relations with international organizations, including OSCE, NATO, OIC, UN, CE. Book ‘Heydar Aliyev: Friendship between Georgian and Azerbaijani nations is an example in the world’ has been published within the new series – books narrating about Azerbaijan’s relations with other countries.

The Azerbaijan-Georgia friendship is sourced from historical origins. Mutual understanding has always existed between the parties. Our nations have friendly and brotherly feelings for each other and there is no problem between the governments. It demonstrated itself more obviously after our countries became independent. National leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev has exceptional merits in the expansion of the friendly and brotherly ties between our countries. The return of Heydar Aliyev, who started the close relations with Georgia in the soviet time, to Azerbaijan’s political power put the establishment of the strategic cooperation with this state on the agenda. Saying ‘Georgia and Azerbaijan have huge opportunities for cooperation’, the great leader did his best to realize these opportunities and create the environment of mutual understanding.

The mutual official visits of the heads of state intensified the development of the bilateral ties. The first official visit of national leader Heydar Aliyev to Georgia in March 1996 is of special importance.

President Ilham Aliyev continues the national leader’s way in the development of relations with Georgia.

Today, Georgia and Azerbaijan are united by the global energy, transport and communication projects such as Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.
